Every booking includes a trial, a timed schedule for the morning and a touch-up kit to keep. Adjusting the plan as things firm up is expected rather than penalised.

Popular dates — spring and end-of-year Saturdays especially — are typically gone eight to twelve months out. You are not charged for asking.
